On a cold winter morning in 826 AD, a small but productive farmstead to the north fell under a gruesome attack by a group of vicious bandits. Tofa and her twin brother, Tofi, escaped the massacre and fled to Hedeby where Tofa began her clumsy study of the arts and Tofi continued his training with sword and shield. Not long after settling in Hedeby did Tofa meet the strong, brave, and handsome trader, ThorvaldR and the two fell in love. Currently Tofa travels with ThorvaldR and wishes to study calligraphy and illumination while her brother aspires to be a great fighter and protector of the land. The Inn Glaði twins joined the SCA in AS 43, a few months after their 21st birthday in the Kingdom of Drachenwald. Shortly afterward, they studied abroad in Calontir for two years before returning to their Kingdom of birth. They both love fighting (although Tofi’s skill is superior) and are often mistaken for one another on the field. Tofa also enjoys dancing and the company of others, whereas Tofi is more of a recluse and isn’t seen much beyond the fighting field. Having graduated with a bachelor’s degree in psychology at Southwestern College in Winfield, Kansas, Wendey is currently a part-time cook at the Rose Barracks Child Development Center in Vilseck. She is still deciding what is next in life. Whee.

In the early 9th Century CE ThorvaldR Skegglauss began a long career as a Norse Trader from Hedeby. His skills in negotiations both common and aggressive amassed enough wealth to build a ship and hire a crew. He spends much of his time on the trade routes and has invested in foreign lands and goods. He travels between his homeland, the Isles and even as far south as the old Roman Empire. He continues to travel but is much happier now that he has met the fair Lady Tofa, who accompanies him now on his travels. ThorvaldR began his SCA career in AS 40 and has served as Herald, Exchecher, and Seneschal of his old group. He has recently been serving as the Knights Marshal for the Ancient Barony of Knights Crossing. ThorvaldR has had the honor and privilege of serving as King twice before. He hopes to see people enjoy themselves and to find the fun, humor and bring some romance back to our Kingdom. David retired from the US Army in 2008 he currently works for the US Army’s Child Services, managing partnership activities for children with many different organizations to bring fun, educational and physical activities to the military’s children. |
